It’s not the fault of the other person or even what happened. It was all your fault! This is something that very few people understand. When something goes wrong, it does not mean that you are responsible for it.

Mistakes happen. That is just how it works. They do not always have anything to do with you, but because people love to blame, they will never learn that lesson that mistakes are inevitable and not their fault.

So when someone makes a mistake, instead of saying I told you so, make them feel better by saying I know what it feels like when something goes wrong. Instead of pointing to yourself for blame, make them feel better by pointing out how many times they have already failed in life. Because while you want them to learn from mistakes, you want them to learn how to avoid them in the future.

Therefore, while the ignorant think they alone are responsible for an outcome, the wise keep reminding them that they are not alone in making mistakes but that there are many others who have made the same mistakes before and can help them avoid those same mistakes in the future
