In the year 2005, the International Network of Street Papers published a study that found that humans were more efficient than most computers when it came to sorting through thousands of images. The study used a computer that searched for pictures that had been tagged with specific keywords, and then identified those pictures with those keywords. Humans, on the other hand, could identify those pictures with those keywords without having to look for them. A number of years later, a different study determined that humans were actually more efficient than most computers at identifying objects in images.
