The idea that we need to examine the errors of the past and continue to search for the truth is something that most people can agree on. However, most people are unable to come up with an idea of hope that is shared by believers and nonbelievers. This partially stems from the way most people think. They believe that there is no hope outside of religion or outside of God, but most people are trying to find something they can share with others who do not share their beliefs.

There is little hope in the future because there is no future. It’s all happening now or it’s all happening after we die. The idea of hope comes down to examining the past and looking for what was right and what was wrong.

If we identify those mistakes, then we can learn from them, move on, and learn from our mistakes next time around.
