The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater.

About This Quote

When we think of love, we usually think of a man and a woman who share their lives together as husband and wife or as boyfriend and girlfriend. Many stories of romance play out like that. But what if the man and woman were to live their lives together as brother and sister? What if they were to fight to the death for the one they love because the person is family? That’s what Romeo and Juliet did. And, according to tradition, the story ends with the two lovers dying at each other’s side.

Here we see another example of how love can grow even greater in adversity. While tragedy may be part of love for some people, it does not make it any less powerful.
