We not only don’t have fun with what we are supposed to enjoy, but whatever we don’t enjoy has started having fun with us.

About This Quote

We not only don’t have fun with what we are supposed to enjoy, but whatever we don’t enjoy has started having fun with us. The way in which we let the things we don’t like in our lives take control of us and in the process, manipulate us into doing things that we don’t want to do can be very insidious. If we just looked at our life objectively, we would see that the things that we dislike are exactly the things that aren’t fun. For example, when I was in high school I never liked sports and I never enjoyed going to dances or parties.

When I look back at my life I see that I wasn’t happy because I was spending all of my time and energy worrying about what other people thought of me and how they were going to react to everything I did and said. I spent a lot of time and energy trying to control other people and because of that my life was full of drama and pain.
