Willis Robinson is an American author. He was born Willis Collins in 1923 in the town of Dabney, Virginia. He was raised by his grandparents on their farm in Wise County near the town of Franklin. Robinson was a science student at the University of Virginia when he enlisted in the Marine Corps in May 1943
He served with distinction in World War II and was awarded two Bronze Stars for bravery. After the war, he attended the University of Arkansas School of Law, but decided to leave the profession to pursue a writing career.
