Wilfred Arlan Peterson (January 23, 1941 - December 16, 2017), was an American author and publisher of self-help books. Peterson was born in Los Angeles California on January 23, 1941. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Relations, and served in the United States Air Force. He began his business career in 1964
He wrote ten nonfiction books, including The Encyclopedia of Self-Help, his most successful work.
