Walter Becker, born January 30, 1947 in New York City, is a guitarist for the rock group Steely Dan. Becker's early musical influences included Jackie Wilson, Jackie Gleason, Ella Fitzgerald and Stan Getz. He studied at Berklee College of Music and was influential in the development of jazz fusion. In the late 1960s, he was a member of a band called The Knickerbockers
