29 Quotes & Sayings By Walt Disney

Born in Chicago in 1901, Walt Disney started out by selling sketches to local newspapers and hanging around movie theaters. In 1923, while working as a "junior animator," he and three other men (Dave Hand, Ub Iwerks and Fred Moore) created the first "Mickey Mouse" cartoon series. He began directing animated cartoons in the mid-1930s and, in 1937, he opened his own studio, which produced such landmark works as "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," "Pinocchio," and "Fantasia." He died in 1966 at age 65.
