Akbar Tur-Ha is a popular Armenian playwright. He was born in Yerevan in 1936. He completed his studies at the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography in Moscow, where he also wrote his first play, "Creativity". He has since written more than thirty plays
His most famous works are "The Night of the Murder" (1963), "Leyli and Majnun" (1964), "Nabat" (1970), "The Little Boy Lost" (1972), "The Great Night of the Nations" (1974), "Anahit's Dream" (1981), and many others. He was awarded with the State Prize of Armenia in 1966, 1971, and 1988.
