Born in Oklahoma, Tim Conway graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Drama. After working as a commercial artist for a few years, he moved to Los Angeles, California, where he joined Garry Moore's comedy team. In 1953 he made his television debut on "The Red Skelton Show." In the following decades, he appeared on dozens of TV shows, including The Carol Burnett Show (1961), The Carol Burnett Comedy Hour (1969), The Tonight Show (1972), and Late Night with David Letterman (1981). He also starred in several movies, including The Front Page (1974), Cocoon (1985), and My Stepmother Is an Alien (1987)
