Syd Hair was born in England in 1951. She has lived in London, the Isle of Wight, and in Australia. Her travels have taken her to China, Thailand, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand and the UK. She first came to America as a Fulbright scholar at a university in North Carolina
Her first novel is The Sea Road (1997) and her second novel is The Last Dragon (2002). She has also published two novelettes: The Prince of the Sea Road (1998) and In the Shadow of the Dragon (2003).
