After earning an engineering degree from Stanford University, he spent several years in the financial sector working for large investment banks. In 1995, he left the finance world to pursue a creative career as a writer and director. In 2013, his short documentary, The Lifeboat Effect, was nominated for a prestigious Academy Award in the Best Documentary Feature category
In 2014 his feature-length documentary, The Secret To A Happy Life, received a Special Jury Award at the Newport International Film Festival in Wales. He is currently developing a feature film based on his life story.
