Savo Heleta was born in 1960 in Tirana, Albania. He studied psychology at the University of Tirana and later at the University of Cambridge (UK), where he obtained his PhD (1996). He has published over 40 books including the novels Zëri i madh (1993), Njejte e mire (1996), Për të vënë njeriin për t'u bërë kryeministër (2002), Pritet (2007), Deni (2009) and The Demolition Man (2012). Savo Heleta is also a translator, having translated many titles by eminent authors such as Friedrich Nietzsche, Dostoevsky, Lermontov, Pushkin, Tolstoy and Turgenev.
