Samuel Noah Kramer (1920-2009) was a Jewish American professor of Assyriology and Bible at the University of Chicago. He was also a professor of Biblical studies at the University of Chicago Divinity School and the Regenstein Library at the university's Oriental Institute. He specialized in biblical Hebrew and Aramaic and in Syriac and Middle Eastern history and culture.
