Salomon Reinach (1884-1947) was a French orientalist who specialized in the history of Islamic law. He was professor of Islamic law at the Sorbonne. His work was distinguished by its interest in the history of Islam, its criticism of religious dogma, and its emphasis on social and political history, as well as on the history of the legal institutions. His major work is "Histoire des lois d'Islam" (1903).
