Rusted Root was formed by singer/songwriter/musician Chris Robinson in Los Angeles, California in 1990. The band's early success was due to the combination of Robinson's songwriting and lead vocals, as well as his guitar playing. He wrote all of the songs for their first three albums, which are considered to be among the best albums of the 1990s, with their first two albums being certified platinum and Gold respectively. The band achieved its first nationwide exposure on Ralph Emery's radio show "Ralph's Rock Classics" in 1997
