Roz Chast has been a staff cartoonist for the New Yorker since 1986. She is the author of nine books, including the best-selling book of cartoons, For the Hell of It. In September 2006, her graphic memoir about her father's death, Boy In the Dark, was a finalist for a National Book Award. Her work has been recognized with a MacArthur Fellowship and a National Cartoonists Society award.
