Roseanne Barr was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in October 1952. She is the daughter of a Jewish father, Reva Berman, and a Catholic mother, Beverly Carman. Roseanne's career in comedy began when she was a UCLA student with a sketch comedy group called "The Knights of the Whirly Chair." After graduation she moved to New York and with her sister formed a band called "Beverly and Roseanne."
