Robert Lawson was born in the United States of America, and educated in Massachusetts. After receiving his BA from Boston College in 1928, he moved to Europe to attend the University of London. During World War II, he served as a lieutenant in the United States Army. In 1947 he married Dorothy Livesay and returned to the United States where he worked for Raytheon until 1950
Lawson is particularly known for science fiction and fantasy writing and has published over one hundred short stories and four thousand poems. His novels include: "The Secret of Sinharat", "The First Emperor", and "The King of Elfland's Daughter".
