R.J. Childershose was born in the small seaside town of Whitstable, Kent in the South of England. With a love for reading at an early age he started writing stories of his own at the age of 14. His first short story was published in the school magazine whilst still at school, but it wasn't until he was 16 that his first novel was published
He has published seventeen novels, eight novellas, three story collections and four children's books since starting his career as an author in 1984. His work has been translated into seventeen languages. His first novel, "The Demon King", was published in the USA by St Martins Press and subsequently released in Germany, France and Japan by Kosmos Verlag.
