Riikka Pulkkinen is a Finnish author and journalist. Born in Helsinki, she graduated from the University of Helsinki in 1996 with a Master's degree in Journalism. She started her career as a journalist at Finnish national radio and the national news agency, STTK. In 2000, Pulkkinen moved to Germany, where she worked for Berliner Zeitung and ran her own press agency
In 2004, she moved to Brussels to work for the European Commission's Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD). She is currently based in London, where she is an editor at the influential long-term business and financial magazine City AM and writes a regular column on business and finance for the Evening Standard.
