His writing career began in the entertainment field, where he created 36 episodes of the TV series 'Men Only' for ITV. He went on to write the movie 'The Thomas Crown Affair', which was nominated for an Academy Award and won him a BAFTA award. Richard has since written four more films: 'The Last Seduction', 'The Shooter', and 'The Man Who Wasn't There' and 'The Golden Hour'
