Roggenbuck began his career as a teacher and administrator in East Tennessee public schools before entering the ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He was ordained in 1976 and served churches in Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Nevada, and Texas before moving to Ocala, Florida in 1999 to serve as pastor of St. John's Chapel Christian Church.
As part of his pastoral duties, Roggenbuck has served as chaplain for the Marion County Sheriff's Office and Marion County Jail.
