Paul Pavlo Shiller was born in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine in 1918. He lived in Russia until 1924 when he immigrated with his family to the United States, where they settled in San Francisco. Paul Pavlo Shiller graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in 1942, and received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1947
After graduation, he worked for several companies including General Motors, Honeywell, and Honeywell's Aircraft Division. In 1959 Paul Pavlo Shiller started his own company developing computer systems for top-secret government projects. He served as president of URS Corporation from 1976 to 1982, when he retired.
Mr. Shiller is currently Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Directors of URS Corporation and is Chairman of the Board of Directors of SRI International.
