Palaniappan Chidambaram is the son of former Prime Minister of India, H. D. Deve Gowda. He holds an M.A
in Economics from Harvard University and currently serves as Senior Vice-President for Knowledge Management at Standard & Poor's. Prior to joining S&P, Mr. Chidambaram was the General Manager for IBM India Private Ltd., where he led the digitization of all IBM activities in India over a 1-year period, including the outsourcing of IBM's Indian operations to IBM Global Services Pte., Ltd.
