Onni Pernu (born 1974) is an Estonian author, columnist, and politician. She has been working as a writer since 1994. Her first book, Liitunud kirikumaja (Homeland Abbey), was published in 2000; it was made into the movie Exile's Return in 2004. Her second novel, Spordiklubi (Sport Club), appeared in 2003
Pernu graduated from the University of Tartu with a degree in psychology and worked for ten years as a psychologist. She then taught at the Tallinn Music College for five years and is currently working as an independent writer.
