Okizona is a youth group that exists to promote a sense of community among young people. The group was started in 2009 by Dan and Susan, fathers from the church. Dan is the ministry leader and Susan helps out as much as she can with administrative duties. Okizona provides opportunities for young people to meet up and have fun doing things together, without the pressure of being part of a big group
After a few years of running Okizona, Dan and Susan began to see that God was using them in an extraordinary way to impact the lives of young people. The local Church has been very supportive of Okizona and continues to give financial support for the group. Although Okizona is pretty much run by 2 full-time adults, it would not be possible without all those that come together as volunteers.
Every year, many volunteers come from as far as 10 miles away, to help out at Okizona events. In addition to coming together as a team, volunteers also pray for each other and for their leaders.
