Mizuko Ito is a professor of evolutionary biology in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa. She received her PhD from Harvard University in 1990 and was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Zoology at the University of Cambridge, England, from 1990 to 1991. In 1992 she joined the faculty at the University of Hawai'i as an assistant professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, and was promoted to associate professor in 1998. In 2016, she became a full professor in the same department.
