Miquel Reina was born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1943. He began his career as an illustrator for children's books and advertising before becoming a full-time writer. Miquel's books include the bestselling series "Rats" (with his brother Joaquim Reina), "Babar" (with Jean-Jacques Babut), and most recently, "The Little Prince". His children's books have been translated into thirty languages
He has also collaborated on two animated films with cartoonist Mark Cendrowski. In 2007 he received the Premio Ignotus award for best book of fiction for his novel "Half a Cow". In 2008 he was awarded the Premio Grinzane Cavour prize from the Italian Ministry of Culture for his contribution to Italian literature.
He lives in Barcelona with his wife and five children.
