Merlyn's parents were Baptists and she became one too. She graduated from Wagram High School in Waynesville. While attending college, Merlyn Miller met her future husband, Robert Miller.

Merlyn's passion for writing began at an early age when she wrote stories for her younger brother and sister while they sat on her lap. Her first book ever published was called "Adventure Tales" which was published in 1940.
Merlyn Miller has helped many people through the years with her books about how to get themselves out of bad situations and how to succeed in life. The most popular of all her books, which is still often read today, is "How to Write Your Life Story."
