After graduating from high school he attended college in New York City, but dropped out in 1993 to pursue a modeling career. During this time he appeared in the cover story of the June 1993 issue of Men's Health magazine, making him one of the first African-American male "Men's Health" cover models. Green then spent much of his time working as a male model in New York City until 1997 when he was asked to work with trainer Bob Greene on The Biggest Loser.

Green was assigned to work with contestant Amy LaVecchia until she was eliminated in episode 10, however after she was eliminated Amy became Green's "Girl Friday". Amy went on to win the show. The two remain friends after their time on the show.
