Margee Kerr is an American writer and former singer. She was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and raised in the Chicago area. Her best known work is the bestselling Young Adult novel The Book of Blood and Shadow (2002), which she wrote with New York Times best-selling author Holly Black. Kerr has won the Children's Choice Award for Favorite Young Adult Novel, and she has been nominated for Best Young Adult Novel in several categories
She also wrote lyrics for the soundtrack to Disney's The Haunted Mansion (2003), which won a 2004 Grammy Award for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media. Kerr is currently working on a YA fantasy series, "The Last Girlfriend", which is planned as a trilogy and which will be published by HarperCollins in 2010 and 2011.
