Vladyslav Manchuk was a noted Ukrainian writer, historian, and translator. In 1868, at the age of nineteen, he moved to Kiev where he became a member of the Ukrainian literary society Radyans'kyi Sich, which was founded by Mykhailo Drahomanov. He is known for his poetry and prose works. His honours include the Order of the Red Banner of Labour and other orders from both the Russian and Ukrainian governments
He died in Kiev in 1884.
