Magda Szubanski is an Australian actress who has starred in many of Australia's biggest television shows. Born in Sydney, she was raised on the northern beaches of Sydney and in rural New South Wales. Szubanski began her career in theatre in the late 1980s before making the move to television. She is best known for her role as Sheila McGregor in the long running soap opera Neighbours, and for playing Princess Pam in the third series of the Australian version of The Office
Szubanski also starred in a string of popular feature films, including The Dish and Mabo, before starring as Janet King in the ABC drama series The Secret Life of Us from 2001 to 2002. In 2006 she appeared as Joanne Quinn in the telemovie A Place to Call Home. In 2007, she appeared in a remake of The Castle and a drama series Love My Way. Szubanski's film credits include No Body's Perfect, Roadtrip Nation, The Dish, Mabo and Flight of the Phoenix.
