She has had work appear in "Writer's Digest," "Midwest Book Review," "The Writer," and other national publications. Her first novel The House of the Rising Slowly won the Eisner Award for Best Graphic Story in 1997. Her second novel The Monastery Gate won the Best Fiction Eisner in 1999
Her third novel The Music Box House was a finalist for the 2007 Romantic Times Book Club Awards in Historical Fiction. She has also published two collections of poetry, Glimpses of Pearls and Openings. Castle is an English professor at Southern Arkansas University and lives in Bentonville, Arkansas with her husband and children.
