She has published four books of poetry in Estonian and one in English. Her first book of poems, “The Path Is Like a Smile” (Tähtis on käima) was published in 2007 by Eesti Raamat, an Estonian publishing house that specializes in poetry (www.erepublik.ee). Her poetry has been published in foreign anthologies including “The Best Poetry of the Year” (puhul olnud kõnn) Estonia; “A Taste of Contemporary Poetry” (Kogemusse kuuluvaid poeetikuid) Lithuania; “Poems for Christmas” (Poeemid hommikuti) Latvia; and “The Best Poetry of the Year” (puhul olnud kõnn) Poland.

Lapina has received several awards for her poetry including the Estonian National Eesti Kultuurivõitlus 2007 Best Book Award for “A Taste of Contemporary Poetry,” and First Prize for Poetry in the Estonian National Eesti Liikumine 2008 Literary Competition for “The Path Is Like a Smile.” She is currently working on her fifth book of poems, which will be published in early 2011.
