Kit de Waal is a writer and editor based in London. Her first novel, The Hare with Amber Eyes, was published by Little, Brown in December 2010. She is also the author of a non-fiction book about the battle to save Biafra, The Unwomanly Face of War: Fighting for Peace – A Woman's Story of Struggle and Survival. It was shortlisted for the Samuel Johnson Prize and won the Olive Schreiner Prize for Non-Fiction
Kit has written for a variety of publications including The Guardian, The Times Literary Supplement and Prospect Magazine. She is a member of the Society of Authors and was a finalist for the Observer First Book Award in 2014.
