Kenneth Goldsmith was born in 1966. He studied at Columbia University, the University of California at San Diego, and the University of Iowa. He received his MFA from Brown University. He is the author of several books of poetry including The Book of Rephaim, The Adoration of the Earth, and The River Is Rising
His work has appeared in numerous literary journals and magazines including Eloquence, Tin House, Guernica, American Poetry Review, New American Writing, Beloit Poetry Journal, Kenyon Review Online, Hobart, and others. Goldsmith's award-winning public art project Bright Ideas (a series of sculptures designed to illuminate overpasses) has been featured in Architectural Digest and on CBS Sunday Morning.
