Katherine Cecil Thurston (1861-1940) was an American author, publisher, and literary critic. She was one of the first female graduates of the University of Chicago. After her marriage to William A. Thurston, she began working as a librarian for the Massachusetts Historical Society and later as the first librarian for the Boston Public Library (BPL)
After she retired, she wrote for The Atlantic Monthly, published several books, and was instrumental in establishing the Children's Library at BPL.
