John Lasseter is the Chief Creative Officer of Pixar Animation Studios. He received a bachelor's degree in industrial design from the California Institute of the Arts in 1982. He left Disney in 1990 to form his own company, DigiWorks, where he produced several commercials and two shorts starring Dudley Moore. In 1992, Lasseter joined Pixar as vice president of production and was promoted to President in 1995. Lasseter oversaw all aspects of production for Pixar until 2007 when he became Chief Creative Officer.

He has won two Academy Awards for his work at Pixar: "Best Animated Short" for Tin Toy (1995) and "Best Animated Feature" for Toy Story (1995).
