Jochebed Yasmina Gwamna is a Cameroonian fashion designer, entrepreneur, and fashion brand owner who has distinguished herself in the fashion industry. Born in Cameroon’s capital city, Yaoundé in 1963, Jochebed Gwamna started her design career after graduation from the National Diploma in Fashion Designing in 1983. She is the founder of fashion brand Glamour African Couture which has been featured on the cover of Vogue Italia, Japanese fashion magazines such as GQ, Elle and Marie Claire Magazine, and had been picked by Vogue Paris as one of the 100 most influential people in fashion. In 2014 she was nominated for the Women’s Icon award by African Women’s Magazine
In 2016, she was awarded with the International Designer Award by International Council of Fashion Designers (CFDA) and made a member of its board of directors. She also received the International Designer Award from the British Fashion Council (BFC) in 2017.
