Joanna Hynes (born January 4, 1980) is an Irish/American blogger and author of the novels The Hunger Games and Catching Fire. Hynes grew up in Ireland and California, and was a freelance journalist for the United States Information Agency before beginning her career as a novelist. She has written for such publications as "The New York Times", "Entertainment Weekly", "USA Today", and "Marie Claire", and has been interviewed on NPR's Fresh Air, CBS This Morning, and ABC News.
