J.A. ("Jack") A. Baker was born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1897 and moved to Boston, Massachusetts with his family when he was a child. In 1914 he attended Boston College Law School where he graduated in the class of 1917
In 1920 he opened a law practice with his brother George E. Baker in Los Angeles, California. His law practice was very successful and it became the largest civil litigation firm in Los Angeles.
In 1925 he became a partner in the firm and was its managing partner until his death. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Mabel M.
Baker and a daughter, Barbara Jane Baker Lissner of Los Angeles, California.
