He has published more than 24 books and has been awarded the Cinta Anak Indonesia (Indonesian Love Award), the Taman Siswa (Student Garden Award), and the Citra Award (the Indonesian equivalent of the US National Book Award). His stories have been translated into more than 10 languages, including English.
