Inafetse Santos is a Brazilian writer, poet and researcher. His work is devoted to the exploration of the power of the written word. He has a PhD in Literary Studies from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a Master's degree in Portuguese Language from the same university. He has published several short stories, poems and essays in Brazil and abroad
Inafetse studied literature at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and was an assistant professor at the Center for Research on Art and Literature (CEAR) at UNICAMP. In 2006, he founded, with André Tirot, Obras Revistas –a literary journal –and served as its editor-in-chief until 2009. Inafetse also founded and directed (2010-2017) the literary review Jornal da Língua Portuguesa (JLP).
From 2016 to 2018 he served as an editorial board member of the Journal Revista de Teoria Literária (RTL). His writing appears in various periodicals such as Jornal do Brasil (Brazil), Matéria (Brasil), Le Monde Diplomatique (France), The Times Literary Supplement (U.K.), The New York Review of Books, The Nation, Counterpunch, Asia Times Online, Asia Times , Asiaweek, Asia Times Online and others. He is also a regular columnist for Asia Times Online and Asiaweek.
He teaches creative writing at São Paulo University for Foreigners and has lectured on various subjects such as globalization, literature and history at universities such as Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, UFRJ; Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro; Federal University of Minas Gerais; Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul; Universidade Estadual de Campinas; Universidade Federal Fluminense; Universidade Federal do Paraná; Universidade Federal do Vale do Parana.
