and M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and his Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University, where he taught for 30 years.
He worked at the Mental Health Research Institute of the University of Pennsylvania as a researcher and as a consultant to the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Office of Education, and other government agencies. Dr. Haskins authored or co-authored more than 600 scholarly articles and books on educational psychology and psychology and education and served on the editorial boards for nine journals (e.g., Journal of Counseling Psychology, Journal of Counseling and Development).
He was active in numerous professional organizations including the American Psychological Association, the American Educational Research Association, and the American Psychological Society.
