Helene Scott Munson was born in Greensboro, North Carolina on May 26, 1938. She moved to New York City as a teenager and began writing as a hobby. She earned her B.A. from New York University and her M.A
from Columbia University. After writing for more than twenty years she now works as a freelance writer for publications such as Parenting magazine and Self magazine, as well as the popular blog, The Daily Muse (www.thedailymuse.com).
