Gregory C. Warner was a member of the first graduating class of Marietta College and is a graduate of the University of Georgia. He served as an officer in the United States Army from 1964 to 1968 and achieved the rank of captain before becoming an educator. He has worked as a freelance writer, editor, and consultant since 1981. He has written several works of non-fiction, including two books on the subject of sports history: The Biggest Plays and Champions: The Greatest Games and Plays in American Sports History and A Short History of the NFL: The Complete Story of Football Past and Present (both published by Fireside Books).
