George Barr was a London-based architect and designer, who began working with the Royal Air Force in 1944. During the Second World War, his projects included a prefabricated housing estate for Berliners and a prefabricated house for the 4th Indian Infantry Division in Burma. In 1947, he formed his own architectural practice, working on both private and public sector projects around the UK. His work was widely esteemed, particularly in the field of prefabrication techniques
